The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Party

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.

This warrior group includes the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.

This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.

What Defines the Combat Party

Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are rare.

At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might look out of place, but the events of the latest installment show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.

Casimir then cleared his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires retribution.
  • The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a hostile location.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their status as important members in the influential clan could help the team enter locations they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter vowed a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:

  • The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.

This leaves them little choice but to travel to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.

Future Episodes

From episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Explorers and Schemers tables.

Viewers can anticipate finding out which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
